Our dog trainer had one of these for her dogs and after we tried hers, we bought one for ourselves. Our dog would not walk nice no matter what training method we tried. After watching this on Dog Whisperer and after our local trainer put it on our dog, it has been an immediate change. Our 60 pound boxer mix now tries to put it on herself and get ready for walks. Don't know why it works, but it does. If you have a dog that goes crazy during walks...give this a try.


Mountainsmioth Canine Backpack
I specifically bought this backpack for my 108lb, 1 1/2 yr old German Shepherd....to help train on walking and "burn up some energy". Pack is well made, easy to adjust, does the trick. Only drawback I find is determining what to put in side pockets for weight that does not bulge outward........I have trained this guy to be very close when walking on leash with me. Over all a great "thumbs up" product.........


This dog pack is a great buy for the price! There is a lot of room in the pockets and the straps cinch up well to make a good fit. As the other reviews said, the sizes run large. My dog weighs 50 lbs and I ordered the medium size, which was too big. It's great to use on walks to tire you dog out more.


This backpack is the nicest looking backpack I have seen so far. When I put it on my dog I saw an instant change in my dog.We went on a walk as soon as I got the backpack on and it was like she was on a mission!Her head came up she stood right at my side not in front NO pulling When we come across another dog she just keeps walking with her head up no pulling I was floored! The backpack is just beautiful and I couldn't be happier with the results!


This is the second dog pack I've used on my 80 pound retriever mix. This one stays in place much better than the previous brand did. I don't have to worry as much about exact weight on both sides. My dog is very tall, skinny and long. The medium size pack was just right and sets over his shoulders. We do a lot of bushwacking with him literally running through bushes and the pack has stayed in place. It easily holds water bottles and packable dog bowl. I do have to check straps before each hike and tighten them up a bit. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it.

I read all the reviews on this item first and that is what made my decision to purchase it. I bought it for a black lab and followed everyone's comments about the size issue. It fit perfect. It is well made and I am very happy with this product.


After extensive research I selected the Mountainsmith Dog Pack for my 85lb Golden Retriever. She took to the idea immediately and gets excited whenever I get it out. We just walk around the neighborhood for exercise and she carries two 1 liter bottles of water for mid-walk refreshment. Pack is well made, compared to others I reviewed. It stayes in place and has no issues for us. Thanks to Ceaser Milan (Dog Whisperer) for the excellent idea of using a dog pack for adding exercise weights and dog enjoyment.


I listened to reviewers about the size to order and it was perfect! I ordered a medium for my 80+lbs weimaraner, 60lbs Boxer and 70lbs boxer mix. It fits them all and is awesome. We use it to tire them out more on walks. I look forward to camping with them at some point with it. There's lots of room in the pockets. Great buy!


This is a terrific back pack for my Doberman. He is rather large, but he only needed the medium one. It is sturdy and easy to put on.


So I ordered the Lg thinking that my 80lb Pit Bull would fit it adjusted all in and it would be OK cause of her Athletic prowess. Wrong!! These things run LARGE so I returned it. I will buy the same because from the feel of it it will last quite well so long as Nika does not eat it. I guess my main point is buy smaller than you think. I cannot say how it lasted BUT it did feel sturdy and not "plush" but comfortable.
