"Havoc Hydration Pack" 2007-11-21
By C. Trevillyan (Fresno, CA)
I love my Havoc Hydration pack, but if I were to make my oen, I would add one more small pocket on the outside for easy-to-get-to nik-naks. I have about 6 packs for various activities and this is my favorite

"Love this backpack" 2007-09-08
By Laressa (Denver)
I have been using this backpack for long hikes and I love it. This pack is great for guys. If you are a woman I suggest getting the Chaos unless you like carrying a lot of things in your pack. My favorite part of the pack is the air director back panel because it keep my back cool and comfortable.

"Awesome backpack for urban adventures and day hikes" 2009-09-30
By N. Hawkins (Chicago)
I use this as my day pack when I travel around the world. I can comfortably hold a big digital SLR, various junk, some travel books and whatever else I need for the day while running around an exotic city.
One of the things I keep forgetting to do is hydrate, and when you're active you forget how much water you lose. I used this bag in Egypt when it was 110 out and I was sweating buckets. I like the 3 liter capacity - I fill it to the brim and suck it down throughout the day.
It's a low profile bag, but the fact that it can unzip and expand is helpful. As a photography buff, sometimes you just have to cram extra accessories or a jacket in your bag. I'm surprised at how deceptive the Octane 14+ is when it comes to holding gear. The two pockets on the hip come in handy for a phone, keys and the little things.
The bag's a great buy if you need a good daypack, or even a commuter backpack.

"Great Day Hike Pack!!!" 2008-12-02
By Jeffrey & Kali's Dad (Orange County, CA)
For lightweight (<15 lbs) dayhikes this is my favorite pack. It's the right size expanded, but can be cleverly made smaller for when the pack only needs to hold your water, lunch and a jacket. I've carried over 20 lbs all day with this, but the thin shoulder straps don't provide enough padding and you'll definitely feel it (keep weight <15#'s and save your shoulders). The streamline design means there isn't a lot of places to attach things to the outside, but makes it a great fastpack design. I have a red one, and am thinking about getting the black one too (already have toooo many packs but.....)

"Good backpack, could be better" 2008-10-29
By MSDC (Lima, Peru)
First of all, I don't use the backpack for biking, but for trekking, so my review is biased in that direction.
The pack is good and the 3L water carrying capacity is a definite plus. The lumbar support and belt are very good when compared to similar packs.
Capacity is good and the two main pockets plus the expansion came in handy repeatedly.
What would I improve?
The padding on the shoulder pads should be better and some way of attaching things to the outside of the pack (like your jacket or walking sticks), like a flap or something, would be appreciated.
All in all, I'm happy with the purchase.

"Great pack - but only for certain uses" 2008-10-22
By SDM Matt (Livonia, MI United States)
This is a wonderful pack, but not for everyone. If you are looking for a small/medium capacity pack and you want to move fast, this is the right bag for you. It is low drag and conforms to your body. If you want something with large capacity or the option to strap gear on the outside, however, maybe another pack would be more optimal. Another affect of being low profile is that it doesn't have a nice square cavern to pack into, there is plenty of space, but it is around the sides, top and bottom of the pack. The water bladder takes up room in the middle. I got stuff sacks to help load it in an organized way and they really help.

"Exactly what I needed" 2008-07-17
By Micheal Mathews (Alexandria, Virginia, USA)
I have the smaller version of this pack, which is great for light loads.
Unfortunately, at the time I needed to be able to change out of my work clothes (business casual) so I could ride my bike 15 miles home everyday. On top of that there were times when, riding home at night through DC, I wanted to bring my camera gear. The smaller pack was just a little bit too... small.
This one however is perfect, holds everything nicely and has the features I liked such as the side pockets for keys, phone, mp3 player, etc., as well as the collapsing/expanding compartment.
This is a great pack for bikers/hikers that need to carry a slightly larger load, it can easily fit a full change of clothes (w/shoes) as well as some food and supplies.
And if you dont need the extra space, collapse it down to a size that's slightly flatter and more compact than your average backpack for school kids.
Add the 100oz water pack and for my money this is a winner.
Good buy.

"Great water bottle" 2009-06-02
By AK (Somerville, MA)
I love my little purple CamelBak so much that I bought the .75L since the .5L isn't always large enough. It's especially handy when driving and fits in my cupholder. One warning: if you suffer from jaw pain you may find that using the bite valve exacerbates your jaw pain. I have intermittent jaw pain and on those days drinking from the CamelBak hurts.

"great belt- swap the bottle" 2009-12-27
By Carol Chesney (Alachua, FL USA)
The belt is great. It has has good additional pockets for wallet, keys cellphone, etc. The cellphone pocket even adjusts to handle different size phones. The fleece lining is super soft. The angle of the bottle holder helps it stay put when running- but it works best when not too full.
I love camelbak bottles, but this one is no good for the job. It is supposed to be a twist to open and close, but it does not work well and it leaks terribly. I use the bottle it came with to drink more water throughout the day and use another camelbak in it for running.

"Great "hands free" way to carry water on a run or hike" 2009-10-27
By MidnightRunner
I purchased this because using my camelbak back pack for runs was way overkill and a hassle, and I don't like carrying a bottle in my hands when I run. I had considered the bladder type belt packs, but for daily use the bottle is much more convenient since it can be thrown in the dishwasher and refilled much easier. This pack was just the ticket for me, and it is pretty comfortable once it is adjusted properly. When I first tried it, it seemed weird that the bottle would be on the left side facing back, but it made sense when I started running - facing back the bottle is not in the way of arms and elbows. The pockets are pretty small, but it does have a cell phone pocket which is very handy for flip phones(though I am not sure if it would fit a larger phone). I can also fit a gps in the larger pocket and some cash or keys in the small one. The only improvements would be if there was a way to allow it to be easily switched to carrying the bottle on the right side, and if it had a slightly larger pocket or a detachable pouch for more stuff. I am thinking of adding an additional pouch which I could remove when I didn't need it.
The bottle I received with mine is very similar to the better bottle, but appears more economically made and uses a softer plastic for the bottle. It does not have the flip up bite valve, but it works almost as well. The bottle does has the straw inside which makes a huge difference over the podium bottle. The 750ml better bottle does fit perfectly so I sometimes use it instead of the included bottle.

"Great Product" 2009-04-10
By K. Sutton
I researched before buying a hydration pack for running a long time/distance and chose this one. This camelBak has worked great for me. I haven't had any trouble with the belt being too lose or too tight. There are multiple places to tighten or loosen the pack. It carries all that I want it to without feeling bulky or heavy. The bottle is big enough and easy for me to reach around and grasp. This was my first camelBak product and I would buy another one. This is a great product.

"Not good for running" 2008-09-03
By A. Bennett (Rochester, MI)
I bought this thinking I could wear this on long runs but the belt didn't stay in place. It was either too tight or it moved too much when I ran. It would probably be great for walking or biking. I love the regular Camelbak water bottles but this product didn't work the way I wanted it to.

Streamlined versatile packs for hands free hyration. A streamlined hydration pack for kids.
camelbak has been the innovation and performance leader in outdoor hydration products since 1989

We got these for our two kids, ages 2 and 7, and they love them. It took a minute for my two year old to understand how to use the nozzle, but he got it. We have only used them hiking, but they will also be great for traveling and for summers carnivals (We live where it is 105 degrees in summer). We are very happy we got them!

I ordered this for our 7 year old daughter for a snow skiing trip and absolutely loved it, and it worked out perfectly!! I am thinking of ordering one for myself.

Purchased for our daughter so she would carry her own water on hikes. She likes it so well she wears it at dinner.

Our four year old LOVES having his own Camelbak. He has been using it even when he's outside playing. We bought this product to take hiking/camping but it's getting him to drink lots of water so we let him use it daily!

My 2 and 4 year olds both love these Skeeters! I think they are perfect the way they are and have no complaints. I was pleased that they work well for younger kids even though they are recommended for 5 and older. I just fill them up a little less so they aren't so heavy, and keep the straps snug.

Product Description
The mountain bike enthusiast will appreciate the fact that the Lobo has the most hydration and storage capacity of any of
camelbak's external fill products. A flexible, stable system, the Lobo is perfect for several hours of hard trail riding. Easily access the 100 oz OMEGA HydroTanium Reservoir to refill when on-the-go and carry up to 200 cubic inches of gear and essentials in secure storage

I bought this backpack for my husband, and he loves it. It is very functional and keeps water cool.

The Lobo is very light and can hold plenty of water for a long bike ride, but it could use a bit more cargo space and I am not sure if I get any benefit from the hip strap. Also, taking out the reservoir to allow it to dry every time I use the pack is a pain. Despite these few weak points, I am, overall, quite happy with the Lobo.

This is my third CamelBak and great for water, tire repair and a snack. (The MULE is a better one for carrying more gear.) I like the ipod pocket, small tool kit pouch and harness system. It will keep most dirt and water out. The harness and bladder are small enough to incorporate into a larger backpack and can be quickly removed and worn for exploring. As with most bladder systems keep them full or keep them empty and most definitely-clean often. The LOBO will take care of your water and allows you to enjoy where you are.

it has just the right size for a half-day ride. enough water to get you thru the trails and not too much to be too heavy to carry around. the compartments are just enough for a bike tool, extra tube and bike levers with extra space to spare for your wallet.

This was my first Camelbak. Got it a few weeks back at least. I have used it plenty. Great water capacity and functionality. Also good enough space for carrying items. I use it mostly for mountainbiking. Have had zero problems and I can actually see most any problem being an easy fix. The reservoir also has a lifetime warranty from Camelbak which is a definite plus!
