This is my gym bag. Keys, wallet, gloves, iPod and Kindle (for the recumbent bike) all fit in it perfectly. I also use this for grab and go trips to the store or mall. The small size means I don't have to remove it when I sit in the car. I just rest it on my lap and work the seatbelt under and above it.

This is a great bag. It's easy to carry what I need. Excellent for conceal carry.

The Fatboy versipack from Maxpedition is Awesome! This thing is so durable and well made. I am sold on Maxpedition. I will buy more of their bags in the future. It's comfortable, user-friendly and all around cool. I use it on my motorcycle and it feels just perfect. Not too big, not too small, just right for the necessities. Buy it, you will not be disappointed.
Good luck finding a bad review, cause you won't!!

Back in the 50's I was into rocks & fossils. Also fishing. I had a US WWII vintage gas-mask bag (pre-Viet Nam era) that slung over my shoulder for needed supplies. During college it served as book-bag and other purposes, as well. It was a really cool bag. After college, though, it just wasn't cool to haul it around with me. Not that I have ever worried overly much about being cool but I didn't like folks harassing me either.

Many times over the years since then, I've wondered why "the little missus" is supposed to haul the "luggage" while men are suspected of sexual identity issues if they try it.

These days, of course, men carry more stuff than ever. In addition to keys, wallet, handkerchief & maybe a pocket knife, there are now cell phones, IPODs and PDA's to be carried. Plus there is a lot of other stuff that men SHOULD carry, just in case. Even with "cargo pants" it can be a challenge to carry everything you'd like.

In my opinion, the day of the "man-bag" has come and people should not be so hung-up about it. If you agree, you won't find one better than the the Maxpedition Fatboy Versipak.

Maxpedition products are totally over-built; ruggedly constructed to LAST. "Hard-use gear" is more than a slogan with these products - but a reality. The Maxpedition products are also ergonomically designed for very practical usage. They have anticipated that you will want storage compartments both inside (to keep rummaging to a minimum) and outside (so you can keep the most frequently wanted items handy). If I count right the Fatboy has 11 different compartments or pockets plus attachment points for some extras if desired.

I guess the only question would be how much stuff YOU want to carry and whether this bag is the right size. Here is most of what I have got in mine: large check-book wallet, well-stocked 1st aid kit, cell phone, PDA, Benchmade Griptillian Folder, Leatherman Charge Multitool with sheath & accessories, AMK Pocket Survival Pack, Two-Man Heat-Sheet survival blanket, cell phone charger, PDA charger, assorted spare batteries, a vial of NATO Life-boat matches, a 3 foot tape measure, nail-clippers, a Sterling carbide knife sharpener, two handkerchiefs, two pens, a small notebook, a Bic lighter, two rolls of Rolaids, several Breast Milk Storage bags (for emergency H2O storage) a small bottle of Purell hand sanitizer, a pair of ear-buds for the music on my PDa, a folding hairbrush, a small tactical flashlight, a fresnel lens magnifier and small canvas sheath stocked with cotton balls & a small fire-steel with striker. And there is still room for a sandwich, some trail-mix & a snickers bar.

You might want to carry a lot less stuff than I do in which case one of the Maxpedition waist-packs might work. Or maybe you want to carry more. In any case Maxpedition has some carrying-gear that will work for you.

Just one thing. I can't get used to calling this thing a purse or even a "man-bag". Hobos used to "bindle" their possessions together in a small sack attached to their walking sticks. Since this bag contains a lot of the stuff I'd want if I unexpectedly found myself in hobo mode (anything can happen) that is what I have named it after. The Maxpedition Versipack is my "bindle". Another term I have heard for these "man-bags" is "PUSH-Pack". "PUSH" stands for "Practical Utility Shoulder Hold-all". But that one might be copyrighted.

I've noticed that most reviewers for this product are men, but this bag functions just as nicely for women too. It's a great rugged, well constructed bag for conceal carry. No need for a silly fanny pack, when you use the "fatboy". The conceal carry compartment is equipped to use a special holster to keep your gun from moving around. It has plenty of pockets for various needs. An overall great bag for the price. Highly recommended.
