First of all, it really isn't as big as the picture with the mannequin suggests. I think Amazon's mannequin is on the small side.

What's to like about the Jumbo over the Fatboy? One is capacity. Everything is about 1/3 bigger than the Fatboy. This thing can swallow my netbook AND my Kindle among other things. The extra room might work against you if you use it as an excuse to cram it with your EveryDay Carry (EDC) items. It can get pretty heavy when packed to the gills. The other nice thing about the Jumbo is the built in water bottle holder. My only complaint is that Maxped did not include a phone pocket like on the Fatboy. This necessitated an extra expense for me on top of the cost of the Jumbo; hence the 4 stars.


Overall this pack is a solidly built product. Its wonderful. It is alot smaller than i expected. I didnt do any estimation of the actual size like i should have. its more like a LARGE fanny pack. Its a keeper though. Until i can buy the bigger pack I'll be using this and even then i'll probably still find a use for the JUMBO.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this product an 8.


The Maxpedition Jumbo is the ultimate "Man-Bag" it is big enough to carry all the things that I have always wanted to have around, but never had the pocket space for. I've got my wallet, knife, multi-tool, my mini-maglite, a couple of books, headphone (and extra headphones), 50ft of paracord, an iPod charger, pens, chap stick, a compact knife-sharpener, a granola bar, a couple of USB drives and some bits for the multi-tool and it's not even full yet. Plus, it's got room to expand via the Molle attachment points and velcro panels. A perfect everyday bag and a great "bug out bag", it's very well thought out. I haven't even used two of the pockets yet Including the collapsable water bottle pocket.

Did I mention the CCW options?!? There's a pocket that could be used for documents, or what ever but is actually for concealment of a handgun. It has 2 velcro strips on the inside to attach Maxpedition's own adjustable CCW holster and magazine holder. That pocket allows for quick access to your firearm and looks big enough to hold even a large frame pistol. There is also a velcro loop on the back of the bag to attach it to your belt for a more stable way to carry the bag and deploy the weapon if needed.

There's really no question that this is the best designed and most durable bag I've ever seen. Law-Enforcement and Military folks swear by Maxpedition's gear and it's very ease to see why.


The Maxpedition Jumbo is an excellent product. Before buying it I wondered whether it would be as good as advertised. It is better than I expected. This product is light, capacious and very handy. Useful for any type of trips. I was glad that I bought it. It really deserves five stars. Ladislav
