I am totally loving my platypus bottle.
The water has no smell or taste.
Its super easy to carry and drink out of.
I take it to work in my purse everyday and to volleyball practice and games.
All my team mates loved it and want to get their own.

I am thinking of getting the 2L.


This bottle has come in real handy in certain situations, but it isn't an everyday replacement for a hard shell like a Nalgene. A typical backpacking example: you know you're going to need extra water a few days down the line, but not right now. Just stuff one or two of these guys (empty, of course) in your pack--they don't weigh anything and don't take up much space. Later, you'll have them when you need them. The Platy Bottle (I didn't even know what it was called 'til I looked it up on Amazon) is pretty durable--I haven't got a hole in one yet--but I wouldn't drag it it around carelessly. The small top can be a pain when filling at times, and if you lose the cap it's McGiver time. Recommended for those niche situations when a big, bulky bottle would get in the way.


I carry water everywhere and this is this easiest most spill proof system I have used in 10 years. I have several of them that I keep in the refrigerator and rotate them through. So glad to get out of the plastic water bottles habit!


I bought this mainly because it becomes flat when it's empty. Makes storing easy. However, I wish I had bought a larger bottle.


I bought this bottle after toting around a broken leaky lexan bottle for too long. I read far too many reports about the dangers of plastic leaching chemicals into water. The platypus is made from a supposedly more friendly polyethylene, can be boiled, and collapses so small it can fit into a pocket when its empty. It does take a day to get used to drinking out of it though (you will likely need two hands). I would never go back to a Nalgene style wide mouth (that I used to spill all over myself).
