CamelBak Rogue™ (True Blue/Graphite)
Product Description
An attractive, aerodynamic design is paired with external fill for the ideal road cycling system. 2-3 hours of hydration.I'm not a professional bike rider by any means, just do a little light trail riding and was tired of reaching for my water bottle all the time. The pack is easy to use, holds my keys, cell phone and small tools while I'm riding and is so light, I barely notice its there. Would definitely recommend this product.
I needed this before my trip out west for skiing. It worked great! The camelbak has adjustable straps so I didn't feel confined with all the extra layers and the tube was not obtrusive at all.
This is a perfect sized pack for the slopes. I take it with me and it fits perfectly underneath my jacket and doesn't freeze, while having just enough space for a Red Bull, a flask of Jagermeister, a bottle of sunscreen, chapstick, and a couple granola bars. Highly recommended that you never put beer in the bladder!! OOOPS! :P
This is my 3rd CamelBak in the last 12 years or so. I was pleasantly surprised by the improvements that have been engineered into this product. The water bladder and tubing is of medical grade materials (TPU, Elastomers) and does not have the odor issues of PVC. One gets the impression that this product has been thoughtfully designed. The reflectors on the straps are great. The bladder is hung inside the bag, thus preventing it from sagging under heavy loads. The position is very comfortable on one's back and there is no shifting or bouncing on gnarly downhills unlike the older design. The only criticism is that the lower pocket should have two zippers. The reason is this: it opens very wide in an inverted U-shape fashion. If you forget to zip up on the trail, you will loose whatever is inside- and I have seen my fair share of items strewn on singletracks. A two zipper format is more of an insurance as you can by habit centralize the zippers to the middle of the pack.
All in all, a really nice product at a very fair price.
Nothing really stands out about this pack. I use it for shorter mountain biking or hiking trips, but for longer trips I have the Octane 14+ 3 liter pack, which I prefer (though it is much bulkier). If searching for a lightweight, comfortable and functional 2 liter pack, this is quite good.
Great product, I've heard nothing but horror stories from people that have tried to save a buck of two on a cheaper hydration system. I am very happy with this product.
If you're looking for one then get a CamelBak of a Penguin.
water condensation comes through material into storage pockets...so if you take your phone with you on whatever journey you may choose...put it in a plastic baggie
I bought a new camelbak after losing my old one. It was a good buy. I don't like the new version has much as the old one. Maybe I will get used to it. I used it today on a hike in Colorado.
I bought this to wear on my back during runs, because sometimes I get thirsty and I dont want to carry around a water bottle. It is great for that - it is lightweight, so you dont really notice it until it is about half empty and then you get the sloshing noises... nothing to complain about. It keeps the water cool even when it is hot out (except the water in the tube). For runs, I would say this is highly recommended.
I started carrying it in my patrol car (I'm a police officer) and drinking out of it during the day (with all that gear on, plus I live in Alabama, it can get really hot) instead of having to get bottles of water. This works great and the water stays relatively cool all day, but I usually empty it before the shift is over.
In short, if you need enough water for a long trip, or a day's worth of riding around and getting out in the heat, yo may need a bigger camelback. If you are going on runs and need a good hydration method, this is the way to go.
Only con (for running) I can think of at the moment is that the drinking tube kinda gets in the way when not in use. You can clip it to the pack using the plastic clip, but then you have to fiddle with it while youre running to get i
I wanted something that held more water than a fuel belt for my long distance runs in the trails. After an initial adjustment period I learned how to use the straps properly and it allowed me to run my first 50K. Slows me down somewhat but if you are going the distance on the trails it definitely is very useful...
