I received the Pelican Hardback 1090 as a gift, and am very happy! My old Macbook Pro died in a fall so I'm determined to protect my new one from such an untimely death. This case fits my laptop (15") almost perfectly. It includes some foam pads for customizing the fit. If I rattle the case with my laptop inside I don't hear any movement. The case is supposed to be waterproof, and I hope it as as I live in Seattle, and sometimes commute by kayak. I haven't gotten it wet yet, but based both on the way it seals, and my experience with other Pelican products, it should be fine. The case is also very light and compact relative to its size and capacity, and I can fit it in my backpack. While it includes a shoulder carrying strap, it doesn't have any kind of grab handle, and is therefore a little awkward to carry (you can't carry it like a briefcase). This oversight is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
