There is a reason that Outside Magazine named the Osprey Meridian 22 their luggage of the year in 2006. This is simply the best wheeled travel backpack on the market. I looked at packs from EMS, REI, High Sierra, Eagle Creek, and The North Face, and the Osprey pack had the best combination of features and storage space by far.
I started my search looking for a carry-on legal travel backpack with a removable day-pack. The problem is that most carry on packs have tiny main compartments, some under 1,800 cubic inches. Others have more room, but offer little in terms of travel security. This bag is a whopper that is carry-on legal with 3700 cubic inches of space in the main bag. This is also the most comfortable of all the wheeled travel bags I tried on, and only the Eagle Creek bags came close in comfort for non wheeled bags.
As far as security, both the daypack and the main bag have no easy access external zippers. So prying fingers can't steal your stuff while this is on your back while travelling. In fact, the day pack has one of the most clever ways of opening of any of the daypacks I've seen.
If you're looking for a lightweight, super well made, smartly designed wheeled travel pack that is carry-on legal, this pack is your only choice!

This bag is made in China with very cheap quality materials. It is NOT leather. It's made out of a very thin, easily tearable manmade fabric that REEKED of chemicals when I took it out of the packaging.
Since it's so poorly made, I don't expect it to withstand much use. It definitely would not withstand the riggors of airline baggage handling for very long so if a travel bag is what you're looking for, bypass this one at all costs otherwise you'll be wasting your money.
I would return mine, but it's not worth going through the hassle. Let's just say it was a lesson learned to stay away from Embassy brand products.

I recently took this Tarmac 25 on an almost 2 week trip and with no complaints what so ever. It has high quality construction, with a well thought out design. The shoe compartment is especially nice along with the other inside compartments. It rolls easily when full and the handle is plenty long enough for easy maneuvering. I really have no complaints with this bag. We have 2 of these bags and the handle was damaged, not badly, on one of them on a trip and Eagle Creek sent us a replacement handle for free. I was very satisfied with Eagle Creek's customer support. I highly recommend this bag for anyone looking for one this size. We shopped around a lot and found that Amazon had the best price and shipping policies.

I took this bag on an 8 day trip and was able to fit all my stuff in there pretty handily. The pockets on the inside flap allow you to open the bag without everything falling everywhere each time you open it. If you haven't bought new luggage recently, you'll be surprised how light this one is. Get one of the colored bags, it definitely stands out on the luggage carousel.

Not worth the $28 - or even half of that. There is absolutely no bottom or side support, and the bottom is narrower than the sides. Sure, this increases the cubic space available, but at the cost of both an unwieldly, bulging bag (impossible to carry) and frumpily smashed clothes and shoes. "Tough, but heavy" 2010-02-01

My first experience with a Pelican case was a smaller version with pick and pluck foam that I use for a gun case. I liked it - a lot - so when it came time to get an 'occasional' case, this seemed to fit the ticket. I needed something that I could take onboard as a carry-on, but that I could also put in checked baggage if I needed to. Most rollaboards are light but flimsy and would suffer a horrible fate at the hands of typical luggage handlers. Not so with the Pelican case. This thing is seriously tough. The neoprene liner is well worth it with the double zips to keep all your personal effects nicely in place, and the utility bag and laptop bag fit perfectly in the lid. They're held in with velcro and when removed, can be stuck to each other, acting as a laptop pouch (but without its own handle).
The Pelican case's toughness is it's biggest plus point, but could also be a big minus if you're not strong. Fully packed with a laptop, power supply, cables and five days of clothes and a wash kit, this thing tips the scales at about 27lbs. That's well within the limit for checked luggage but if you pack it this full, you'll need some heft to get it into the overhead bins onboard.
Is it worth it? Absolutely. Sure it's hefty but that's because of its durability. In the last year, mine's been round the world with me (literally) twice, both onboard and in checked baggage. Whilst idly staring out the window, I actually saw my case fall off the loading conveyor at Dallas DFW a few months ago - probably an 8ft drop to the concrete. Sure it's scuffed but the hinges are in perfect condition, as are the clasps and seals. The handles show no sign of damage or potential detachment.
As one reviewer said, the interior space does seem smaller than you might expect, but pack smartly and it will be no problem.

I travel alot and in three trips TSA had managed to destroy two softside cases, ripping the wheels off one and the handles off of another while my really old backup case was losing it's zippers. I sucked it up and paid the extra for this one WITH the Neoprene liner. The failing of this Pelican case is that it's double throw latches can come open and this one only has the two. The liner saved my stuff from coming out until I got smart and bought the TSA locks just to keep the thing closed if the latches pop open. Even a cheap caribiner would work but the liner is still worth it. The wheels roll amazingly well, it's actually very light, the handle pops open easily and stays shut when not wanted, and it's tough as nails. The down points are the latches, no external pockets for convenient access to documents, and small size.

The bottle does a good job of keeping the water cold. I like all the laken bottles I've bought. I guess the only thing that detracts from this bottle for me is that it doesn't come in a 1 liter size. Or, 16.9 oz size. I use those drink packets alot with my bottles and I have to either leave a little water out, or let the drink mix be diluted out because of the bottle size. Not a big deal really, but just one little thing that detracts from it. Otherwise, it's a well made bottle, wide mouthed making it easy to drink from and add ice to, and keeps drinks cold. I drink so much water it never stays in the bottle long so I can't tell you how long it keeps water cold.

I have a couple other Laken bottles Iv'e had forever. When I heard they are making insulated bottles with Aerogel I had to try it out. Aerogel is the lightest (3 times the weight of air!) and best insulating solid in the world; developed by Nasa to capture space dust. The bottle is as light as a 1Liter Nalgene bottle. Only downside is it's volume is only .7 Liter and just over the size of a 1Liter...but it's insulated! Keeps hots hot and colds cold. And since it has an epoxy coated interior, flavors don't stay in the bottle after washing. I did notice the price hopped up a bit too, but still worth it.

I use this bottle every day. Fill it with ice cubes and water in the morning and you'll have cool, if not cold, water all day (never used it with hot liquids). Note that it is not a thermos and will not insulate as well as a vacuum bottle, but it certainly insulates well enough to prevent sweating when filled with cold liquid. If you've ever had a puddle of water or sodden papers on your desk when using uninsulated bottles you know what I mean. It is absolutely leakproof in my experience, and the overall feel and finish suggests a quality product.

I just purchased this bag a few days ago. Frankly speaking, I didn't have a high expectation because the snowboard bag below [..] is usually not that good in terms of quality and look. However,I'd say I was very suprised by this Otis product when I received it. The material feels very good and thick and makes it look really durable(although I still wait to see its duraility in the long run). There is plenty of room inside to fit my 154 board in, along with my boots and gloves. It says that it can hold up to 160cm. I don't doubt that at all. It also has a side pocket which can accomendate accessories such as gloves, keys etc. I also like its grey color and exterior design, humble buy stylish.
I've been looking around for a good deal for snowboard bag for a while. This one so far is the cheapest one I can find. Of course, it doesn't have some features that those high-end products have, such as padding, rolling wheel. But with 30 bucks plus free shipping, what else do you expect??
