I bought this pack for canoe trips in the BWCA. It's large, tough and waterproof. The lumbar strap is a nice help on portages. However, when lifting the pack by a shoulder strap, the top adjusting straps tore at the pack anchor material; on the first day I used it. Also, the plastic clips sometimes refuse to open. Frustrating. My friend purchased a Dulutch pack for three times the price, but I think it will last three times as long.

As with all Maxpedition packs, the Condor II offers top notch quality, expandability and quality workmanship.
The pack is a top loader, so you can cramp in your gear until its full, stomp on the top, then cram some more.
The bottom of the pack has lash points so you can attach a bed roll or sleeping bag. I used a couple of nylon straps and attached a 32 degree sleeping bag to the bottom.
The pack is covered with PALS (ladder system) to attach MOLLE or ALICE equipment all over it. I have the Maxpedition map and GPS case attached to the small outside pouch. While on a hiking trip, I can lay the pack on the ground, open the map case, get the GPS out, drink from the water bladder and never have to open the main compartments of the pack.
The compression straps work well for keeping the pack slim, and for lashing a tri-pod stool to the side of the pack.
I see no reason why this pack can not be used for an over night pack or even a 2 day pack. The main compartment is big enough to carry extra clothing, one man tent, MREs, hammock, rain poncho, poncho liner, tent stakes. While the other compartments are big enough to carry a first aid kit, flashlights, GPS, topo maps, map compass, water filter,, and other odds and ends.
The water bladder compartment is big enough to fit a 2 quart bladder and have plenty of room left over.
The shoulder straps have plenty of padding.
Overall, this is a well built, well designed pack that I highly recommend.

I read the other review and bought it on the fact it could hold at least a size 11 shoe. I can state that it does, so I am happy. It also holds two cases (8 sleeves) of golf balls and has three large sections to hold tees, glove, towel and I keep brand new socks in the zipper compartment which is complety seperate from the three sections. Basically, holds a lot of stuff.

Prop 65 under California law requires that all products made in China carry that "tiny message" warning as they may or may not have been printed in China, which is why it is included with all Gripper Planet Bottles, (they are manufactured in China). We also include a large, 5.5" x 8.5" bright yellow paper with each and every bottle order that explains that we do not do any printing whatsoever of the bottles in China. ALL Planet Bottles are printed only in the USA. Lead paint has been a problem on some products printed in China (bottles, toys, other items), which is the reason why we ONLY print our bottles in the USA. Most printing done in China is safe, and it's far less expensive than printing in the USA, but we still choose to print only in the USA because it is known to be safe under FDA and EPA Standards of testing. To post a false, slanderous review of our product and company, or say that we would sell dangerous bottles to our customers is just terrible. One should always check their facts before spreading malicious and false information. We have no way of contacting "Randy" and unfortunately he never contacted us to inquire about the safety of our product or about returning his bottle.
